Districts are starting to use SAS, since curricula are aligned to standards.
There are 6 elements to SAS.
Intervention links are useful.
Vertical Alignment - shows spiral of standards by subject area/grade level - Clear Standards>Vertical Viewer.
Voluntary Model Curriculum - volunteers from PA have developed model lessons for math/language arts down to the level available.
Instructiontab has videos of 'what it looks like'.
Pattan will be offering additional train-the-trainer dates. Ann will share with Curriculum Council this week and the IU will hold trainings. Pattan Harrisburg
These documents take the user step by step through a 3rd or 6th grade math example that will showcase the SAS portal. They're VERY good for showcasing what the portal will become.

Collaboration Day Notes:
Deena requests Thursdays in the future for traveling purposes.
2010 - 2011 plans
Add elementary levels?
Keep levels (elem/high) separate.
Topic related day (ie, web 2.0 tools) introduce in am and practice in pm.
Scaffold days for previous attendees.
January not good for those on block schedule.
November is also tough because of conferences and holiday.
We moved from department areas to allow for better attendance.
Add online area for followup collaborations?
Use video conferencing equipment/Skype to bring others in and/or for followup.
Idea - Skype in advance (record) and share project ideas. Folks then attend and are prepared with resources to create project.
Incorporate Learning Focused Schools
Elementary - keep focus on low maintenance sites. (ie, no email, user uploads)
Add Discovery Streaming
Possibly add regional days/events.
Teachers as presenters?
YCST is willing to host future events.
How many days?
4? 2 for upper level and 2 for elementary?
Suggestions: Oct, early Dec, early Feb, late April (after the 15th)
